All signers must provide the Notary Public with government issued photo identification at the time of the appointment. State approved identification includes ID card or drivers license, U.S. passport, inmate ID card issued by the CA Department of Corrections.
If a signer does not have valid identification, a Notary Public can establish the identity of the signer by obtaining the oath or affirmation of one or two credible identifying witnesses. Each witness must have government issued photo identification.
